Our Trogon Cricket Story

Hi! I’m Len. A cricket-mad dad who’s spent a lifetime chasing the perfect bat. Years ago, I struggled to find a high-quality cricket bat that didn’t cost the earth — so I decided to make my own. That’s how Trogon Cricket was born: a place where every bat is handmade by me using traditional tools and the best English willow, giving players top-level performance without the sky-high price. My hope is that our bats help cricketers of all ages play with confidence, passion, and a smile. And it’s not just bats — I’ve sourced top-quality pads, gloves, and other softs from trusted suppliers, ensuring every piece of gear offers exceptional protection and comfort at a price that makes sense. Whether you’re walking out to bat or diving in the field, our equipment is made to help you play your best without breaking the bank.

Cricket Bat Warranty

Cricket can be an expensive game to play, that's why here at Trogon, we are proud to offer a comprehensive product warranty on all our cricket bats, and soft leather goods, so whether you're purchasing a custom-made bat, a pre-made bat, or one of our top-quality leather pads, gloves, or kit bags, you can be confident that if anything goes wrong your are covered.

Let's start with our cricket bats.

Our bats are built to last, but even the toughest equipment can be vulnerable to damage from time to time. That's why we offer a warranty on all of our bats that covers horizontal breakage for up to 6 months from the date of purchase.

If the blade of your bat should break horizontally across the grains within that time frame, we will replace it like-for-like, no questions asked.

However, it's important to note that not all damage is covered under our warranty.

For example, if the blade is broken due to a lack of knocking in, or if the edges are cracked or the toe is damaged due to facing a yorker, these are considered to be normal wear and tear and are not covered under warranty.

To activate the cricket bat warranty, please click on this Google Forms Warranty and complete the details.

A Grade 2 English Willow Cricket Bat FAQs

Is Grade 2 English willow good?

Yes, Grade 2 English willow is considered a very good option for club-level and competitive players. It often has a clean grain structure with minor blemishes that don’t affect performance. It provides a great balance of affordability and playability, making it a popular choice for serious cricketers.

What is the difference between Grade 1 and Grade 2 English willow?

Grade 1 willow is the top tier, typically featuring straight, even grains and minimal markings. Grade 2 willow may have slightly more grain variation or cosmetic imperfections but still offers excellent performance. Both are made from the same English willow trees, with Grade 2 providing better value for money for most players.

Why is English willow so expensive?

English willow is grown in limited regions and requires careful harvesting, seasoning, and handcrafting. Each cleft is unique and takes time to shape, dry, and press correctly. The high demand and skilled labour involved in making quality bats contribute to the higher cost compared to other materials like Kashmir willow.

What weight cricket bat should I use?

Choosing the right weight depends on your strength, style, and level of play. This particular bat weighs 2lb 13oz but feels more like 2lb 10oz due to its expertly balanced pick-up. Players looking for fast hands and quick reactions will appreciate the lighter feel, even in a heavier bat.

Is a heavier bat better for hitting sixes?

While heavier bats can generate more power, it’s the balance and timing that really matter. This bat combines a substantial 2lb 13oz weight with a light pick-up, offering the best of both worlds, power through the middle and fast bat speed for aggressive stroke play.

Grade 2 English Willow Cricket Bat with Light Pick-Up

Grade 2 Cricket Bats for Confident Batters

Designed for serious club players and ambitious cricketers, this Grade 2 English willow cricket bat, weighing 2lb 13oz, offers the performance of a much lighter bat thanks to its beautifully balanced profile and incredibly light pick-up. It feels closer to 2lb 10oz in your pick-up, giving you faster bat speed and confidence to take on any bowling attack.

Made for players who value both power and precision, this bat is perfect for long innings, quick singles, and powerful boundary shots over the infield.

Whether you're looking to step up your game or buy a reliable match bat at a competitive price, this one offers exceptional value.

Perfect for competitive Saturday cricket or serious net sessions.

Expertly Balanced English Willow Cricket Bat

This bat is made from premium Grade 2 English willow, known for its performance, durability, and excellent grain structure. Its standout feature is the light pick-up, ideal for players who love a dynamic style of play but don’t want to compromise on punch.

With a mid-to-low middle, large edges, and a round handle, it’s built for all-round stroke makers. The balance and shape give it a professional feel without the premium price tag. Whether you're pushing for quick twos or aiming to dominate the fast or spin bowling, this bat gives you the control and power to deliver all season.

A Great Gift or Upgrade for the Season Ahead

This cricket bat is an ideal upgrade for experienced cricketers who want a match-ready bat without stretching their budget. It’s also a great gift idea for cricket-loving teens or adults ready for a cricket bat that performs to a higher standard.

Supplied with the option to add our bat protection and waxing service, it's ready to be taken straight to the nets or middle. For anyone searching for deals or the best price on high-quality willow, this bat is a smart and satisfying purchase that will not let you down.
