Cricket Bat & Cleft Grading Process

Here at Trogon Cricket, we are dedicated to producing the highest quality cricketing products for all our customers, and this is especially true for our custom-made and pre-made cricket bats.

All of our clefts are individually graded to ensure that each and every cleft is of the highest quality. Our grading process is rigorous and meticulous, taking into account a variety of factors such as the grain, weight, balance, pick up, ping, rebound, and overall appearance of the cleft, to name a few.

However, even after the bat has been made, if the bat and blade don't meet our high standards, we are fine with downgrading the bat and charging accordingly.

When you purchase a Grade 1 bat from Trogon Cricket, you can be confident that you are getting the best English Willow cleft and bat that meets our strict high standards, if it doesn't meet them, it doesn't leave our workshop as a grade 1.

At Trogon Cricket, we believe that everyone should have access to the best quality clefts, no matter their level of cricketing experience.

That's why we offer a range of grades for our bats, from Grade 1+ for the most experienced and skilled players to Grade 3 for those who are just starting out and need a more affordable option.

Our internal grading process also helps us to ensure that all of our bats, no matter the grade, are consistent in terms of quality and performance, before being sold.

This is because we take the time to carefully inspect each and every cleft to ensure that it meets our high internal standards before the bat-making process starts which means we have consistency in grading and the bats we make.

We have various different grades of willow that are used to produce our custom-made and stock bats.

When purchasing a bat through our website you will see the grades we have available for custom bats, and we will list the grade on our stock bats.

Alternative Willows

We also have alternative willows available, namely Kashmir willow for our junior bats, but this willow is also available for custom-made bats and Dutch Hybrid.
